Winston’s Story

I miss my boy Winston so much. Dogs pick you and he was truly my friend. He was always the one to meet me at the backdoor coming home from work. He’d be ready to “play chase” and would get so aggravated with me if I was “too tired”.

He loved to go on the boat and be a part of whatever was going on. He’d sit in the Captain’s seat and get smiles from everyone we passed. If it was a trip I couldn’t take him, he’d whine and then wait outside on the top step by our dock for my return. Most of all, I miss his cuddling and always wanting to be with me.

I miss at night how he’d sleep on his big chair and not want to go to bed. He’d growl to let us know “do not disturb”. We’d cover his eyes with a blanket and magically he’d stop and become our angel. He always made me laugh.

Winston knew no strangers. Any visitor to our home was greeted by Winston, charmed and invariably Winston was on their lap. We miss that little guy so much.

I feel so blessed that he was part of my life and truly made my life richer.
